Cultural Capitals Presents: Chantal Kreviazuk & Gordie Sampson in Concert

When Chantal Kreviazuk took to the concert grand piano placed in the kitchen of her home studio to commence the writing of her fourth album, something began to change. The chords she started to release were immediately different from her earlier work revealing themselves to be much more rhythmic and charging. While other artists tend to mellow as their career progresses, Chantal found that she was crafting her most driving work with Ghost Stories. Join Chantal in the majestic Convocation Hall on Mount Allison University for one of the best concerts of the year. Opening for this incredible singer/song writer is another Maritime legend. Gordie Sampson will start the show off on the right foot with a selection from one of Atlantic Canada's most talented voices. Tickets are on sale through Ticket Pro, online and for telephone sales and locally at Tidewater books.

Alline was a protestant mystic and an itinerant preacher during the New Light movement and Babcock was one of his followers, who became the first man hanged for murder in the newly created province of New Brunswick. The exciting and tension-filled narrative traces a 25-year sequence of historical events that climaxed with an act of murder in Shediac in 1805. In recounting the tragic story of Mercy Hall, her brother, Amos Babcock, and their tiny community of family and friends, Hannah unravels a complex tangle of hope, desire, obsession, bigotry, faith and fear that speaks strongly to the spiritual journey of many people in today's world.
