Personal Stories from Sackville’s Last 150+ Years Being Collected

Do you have a favourite family story, or Sackville story from the past 150 years? Is there a story about your great-uncle, your grandmother, or maybe even you and your family? Are you a big fan of some big event that has happened in Sackville’s past? If so, then the Town of Sackville would like to interview you. If the interview is videotaped, it can appear on a Canada 150+ webpage the Town is developing (if that’s okay with you, if not it will be kept private!). It could even be used, or form the basis of stories, in a play to be performed this summer.  People can also submit their own video or audotapes of stories, or send them via email. Written versions of stories are also welcome.

The play will be about 150 years of Sackville in Confederation and will be presented as part of the Town’s celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canada’s founding. The play will also celebrate the thousands of years that our indigenous population have lived here.

If you would like to book an interview to tell your story, or would like to submit one, or would just like more information, please contact Ron at r.kellyspurles@sackville.com or 364-4938. The deadline to collect stories is March 31.
