Join Waterfowl Park artist-in-resident Sylvan Hamburger at the opening reception of his installation A Barn on the Marsh at 7pm on Thursday August 3rd. The reception will include an artist talk at the site of the installation located in the grass clearing beside the Waterfowl Park’s Doncaster Bridge. The installation will be on display in the Waterfowl Park from Thursday, August 3rd to Sunday, August 6th.
A Barn on the Marsh is a series of large scale relief prints taken directly from the walls of a 150-year-old Tantramar hay barn. The installation, composed of over 40 feet of fabric, depicts segments of the barn’s interior and exterior walls. The work documents the history of weathering and use that marks the barn’s walls while bringing attention to the steady loss of these once iconic structures.
