Free Frottage and Print Making Workshops For Youths and Adults

The Sackville Waterfowl Park Artist-in-Residence (Sylvan Hamburger) will also be presenting two workshops on Saturday, September 30.   The Introduction to Frottage (Youth Workshop) will see participants create exciting and unpredictable images while exploring the Waterfowl Park. In this hands-on workshop turned scavenger hunt participants will use a frottage texture rubbing process to document as many of surfaces and structures in Waterfowl Park as they can. No prior experience is necessary, but registration is required. This workshop will be held from 10 am – 11:30 am.

For adults, Sylvan will be presenting a “Relief Printing Outdoor Structures 101”. Participants will learn how to make a portable print studio and relief print a variety of structures and surfaces in Waterfowl Park. Participants will be introduced to the relief printmaking process and have the opportunity to print weathered siding and boards from a 150-year-old Tantramar Marsh barn. No prior printing experience is necessary and all levels of expertise are welcome, but again preregistration is required. This workshop will be held from 2 pm – 3:30 pm.

Please contact the Sackville information centre at 364-4967 or visitor@sackville.com for information or to register for the Artist-in-Residence’s workshops.
