The Town of Sackville and its consulting partners at Ekistics Plan+Design have just initiated a land use study planning process for exit 506 at the eastern gateway into the Town of Sackville. The study is designed to lay the foundation for the eventual development of the eastern gateway lands by determining what physical improvements are needed to facilitate economic development in this area of town. Exit 506 has potential for commercial development, tourism, parks and open space and active transportation. Its proximity to the old Bridge, the Tantramar Marsh system and potential trail connections to downtown make this area an ideal gateway for encouraging visitors to stay and visit in the town. We believe in this area’s unique economic development potential.
To understand the full prospects of this important gateway area, the Town and Ekistics are hosting a community workshop on Thursday, December 7 at 6:30-8:30 at Town Hall on 31 Main Street. The Town is inviting all interested citizens, businesses and stakeholders to come and share their ideas at the community workshop session. Please come and share your ideas for this important gateway into our community. The results will be incorporated into a land use plan that will be finalized by February 2018.
We would love to hear your ideas and thoughts for developing this important gateway into our community. For more information please contact Jamie Burke at j.burke@sackville.com or 364-4930.
