The Bordertown Festival is looking for venues, presenters and producers who want to present a program or event at the fourth annual Bordertown Festival, which will be held May 3 – 6 in Sackville. The Bordertown Festival is a four-day celebration of art, music, and hospitality, which offers a sample of Sackville’s many festivals, art galleries, local businesses, and restaurants. The Festival is intended to give local arts and culture groups and venues the opportunity to present a sample of what they do, in one weekend, early in the spring. Collaboration is encouraged. The idea is that this will bring people from outside of Town to sample several events in a short time period, and that they will then come back for more. The Festival also encourages visitors to eat and stay in Sackville, and spend their money in Town as well.

Organizations or venues that are interested in presenting something at Bordertown may be eligible for funding to help offset their expenses. Expenses that are eligible for subsidy are those related to artists and workshop fees and expenses. The idea behind the offer of funding is to allow groups to present programming that they may not otherwise be able to afford or that would present too high a financial risk for them. Details on eligibility and application forms for partnerships can be found at www.sackville.com. Questions can also be addressed to Ron at 364-4938 or r.kellyspurles@sackville.com. The deadline for submitting programming possibilities is February 16, and groups considering partnering with the Festival are encouraged to contact the Festival as early as possible for assistance with preparing an application.
