Mount Allison Students’ Union, Catalyst Mount Allison, Mount Allison Shinerama and the Town of Sackville are proud to partner with dedicated community volunteers to present the 4th Annual Sackville Pride Parade on September 12, 2019. This year’s parade promises to be the biggest yet, as the Mount Allison Student Union has been actively engaging with other Pride Parade organizers throughout the Maritimes to attract even more people to Sackville’s celebration.
The event will include distinguished guest speakers in front of the Mount Allison University Chapel at 5:00pm, followed by the raising of the Rainbow Flag. The parade will then set out towards Sackville Town Hall at 5:45pm via York Street and Main Street, where the Rainbow Flag will once again be raised.
Following the parade and flag raising at Town Hall, everyone is invited to join event organizers at the Bill Johnstone Memorial Park for live music, a fundraising barbeque with Shinerama, cake and plenty of family fun.
We would like to invite anyone and everyone to wear their rainbow colours and come out to the various events to celebrate, raise awareness and show our support for the 2SLGBTQA+ community. Last year’s parade attracted over 220 participants and we would love to see that number double in 2019!
