COVID-19 Updates From Local Businesses

In an effort to keep our residents informed as much as possible concerning the COVID-19 pandemic mitigation efforts, the Town of Sackville will be providing regular updates concerning the status of local businesses and services.

PLEASE NOTE – with movement of the Province to Phase 2 of the COVID-19 recovery plan on May 8 things may change quickly in terms of what businesses are open and when. As well as consulting the information below we strongly recommend that you contact the business you are looking for directly for updates.

Please check back, this news item will be updated as updates are received from local businesses. We recommend you also contact or research the business directly, as we will make every effort to ensure the information is correct and up to date, but the conditions and circumstances can change quickly beyond our control.

Aida’s Café – Café is now open for dine-in with a limited of 10 people maximum.  Hours are Tues.- Sat. 8am-6pm  Sun. 8am-4pm 536-2078

Ana Forlin HR Solutions: The Creative HR Lady – closed to anything requiring in-person meetings, but their services are still available remotely. They can be reached at anforlin@mta.ca or by phone at (506) 232-1104.

Anderson’s Green House – is open for retail with Annuals, Perennials, Herbs, and Veggies!  Their hours are Monday – Friday 9 am-5 pm.  19 School Lane in Middle Sackville  536-3094

Atlantic Pottery & Gallery –temporarily closed to the public until further notice. All social media will remain active and correspondence checked hourly.

Bank of Nova Scotia –is open Monday to Friday  9:30 am to 3:00 pm

Bagtown Brewing–  just had it’s reopening on Saturday and it went really well!  Regular hours are Friday 12pm – 6pm and Saturday 9am – 3pm.
Only selling beer “to-go” from their takeout window but will soon be letting people inside.  Bagtown has also expanded its operations to include the Uptown Bagtown Boozy Market. The boozy market focuses on the retail aspect of our business and now sell a large variety of New Brunswick produced craft beer and cider. All of this product is in cans/bottles for people to buy and take home (we’re basically a liquor store!).

Ben’s Service Station Ltd. – open 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday by appointment only. Call 536-1301 for an appointment.

Black Duck Café – is reporting that they are permanently closed. They have been replaced by Fridgee – who are doing an online grocery service.   www.fridgee.ca

Blairlyn Auto Clinic – is open for business.  Monday to Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday 8 am to 3 pm.  Drop off is available and they will do pick up and delivery.  They are accepting all methods of payment. Email address: blairlyn@nb.aibn.com Phone:  536-3611.

Boultenhouse Museum/Tantramar Heritage Trust – In accordance with the New Brunswick government Update on COVID-19, dated 16 Mar 2020, the museums of the Tantramar Heritage Trust will be closed to the public until further notice. The Trust can be reached by email tantramarheritage@gmail.com or leave a message at (506) 536-2541.  Check back here or their Facebook page for further updates.

Blooms – A few new plant arrivals to show case when they open the doors tomorrow. The shop will be open Mon.- Sat. 10 am to 5 pm.  Sun. 12 Noon-4pm. They will limit 3 customers at a time. They will also be offering private shopping times between 5 pm – 6:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 5 pm – 7 pm on Friday. Please book ahead. Porch pick up will still be available. They are looking forward to seeing you. Your support over the last couple of months has been very heart warming.

Burger King – drive-through only open daily from 9 am to 8 pm.

The Cackling Goose Market – Current hours are Wed-Fri 10-4. The Bakery and Shop have remained open and the Cafe and Restaurant are now open with a limited menu for take-out or to sit on their spacious front patio. They’ve painted “Goose Footprint” physical distancing markers inside and on the patio. Limit of 3 customers inside at a time. Also, curbside pick-up, local delivery, and Maritime wide shipping are still available. For more information please contact them directly at 536-2303.

Cattail Ridge Market – are open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.  Limited to 4 customers at one time. Please only 1 shopper per family. People at high risk can call for special service appt. 939-3555. They are no longer accepting cash. Debit and Visa/Mastercard are fine.

Coastal Inn Sackville – is currently open to all traffic, with limited breakfast and no stay-over housekeeping services. They do not anticipate closing at this time. Working from Home not going the way you Planned?  Try a Coastal Inn “Home Office” instead.  They are offering daily and weekly special rates.  Call today for details 536-0000.

Cranewood on Main – Currently closed for renovations in preparations for reopening!  Check their facebook page for updates.  Call 939-3133 or email info@cranewoodonmain.com.

Downtown Digital – is open again and also Purolator package pickups have started. Their new hours will be 12 pm to 6 pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Downtown Diner – restaurant is now OPEN FOR DINE-IN with 10 people maximum. Hours remain the same 1:00PM-8:00PM.

EOS Eco-Energy – currently closed to the public but staff are working from home. They are checking email and phone messages.

Fog Forest Gallery –  has reopened (with reduced hours) with a collection of calming, nature-oriented artworks to calm the soul and feed the spirit. 536-9000

Foodland – They are reducing their store hours from 8 am to 8 pm for the time being, to support their extra sanitation protocols and allow a little extra time for replenishment of shelves. They introduced Senior Shopping Hour for the first hour of the day at their stores, providing the most vulnerable among us with a dedicated time to shop for goods. They are limiting the store to 15 customers at the time, 1 shopper per family please.

Gary Estabrooks Auto Service – As an essential service they are grateful to each and every client. They are updating their policies to keep their customers and staff safe and healthy. Due to social distancing protocols;
1) Customers are no longer able to wait for their vehicles during service, so they are offering to pick-up and delivery in the Sackville area.
2) They are open by appointment only and are unable at accept walk-ins at this time.
3) Entry must be through the main office door and limited to one customer at a time for drop off, pick up and payment only.

Great Canadian Dollar Store – Open Store Hours 9am-5pm.

Guardian  Drugstore – Their doors remain open to serve the community. Hours 9 am – 5 pm. HOWEVER, they have strict social distancing protocols in place: All of their aisles are ONE WAY … please follow the directional Arrows ➡️ on their floors. If you must come in, please respect social distancing of 2m or 6ft. They have lots of visual guides on their floors to help you with this. They are limiting the number of customers in the store at one time. Please be patient if they ask you to remain outside until the coast is clear.

Goya’s – As the virus has loosened in New Brunswick, they are reopening their dining area for up to 10 people only and keeping physical distancing.

Hall Tire, Muffler & Auto Centre – open Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, offering pick up and delivery. Non-contact payment options available.

Home Hardware –Open Monday to Saturday 8 am to 4 pm.

Holan Kitchen Chinese Restaurant – open for take out and delivery only. Everyone coming to pick up has to stand behind a line to keep their distance to ensure safety.

Hounds of Vintage and Ninth Wave Gallery – Open Wed.-Thur. 12-6 pm  Community masks and hand sanitizer will be mandatory for entry to the shop.  (Curbside pickup available).

Jean CoutuStarting Monday, May 11th, they will be extended hours, as they slowly move to their “new normal”. Their new hours:

Monday-Friday 9am-8pm
Saturday 9am-6pm
Sunday 12pm-5pm

They still have a checkpoint at the entrance of the store to allow customers to screen themselves for symptoms and sanitize their hands. A limit of 10-15 customers in the store at any giving time is still in place, as well as social distancing. They thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding as they move forward.

Joey’s – open every day from 12 pm to 8pm dine-in (limited seating), takeout and delivery .

Jack’s – is open Monday to Thursday 11 am to 10 pm and Friday & Saturday 2 pm to 10 pm.

Knuckle’s Truffles Chocolates – is open for chocolates & baking.  Café open Wed. – Fri. 11-5 pm Sat. 10-4 pm.

The Legion – is closed until further notice.

Love is in the Hair – will be re-opening on Tuesday, June 2nd. Covid-19 Recovery Public Health Measures will apply.

Jeanne Chavarie (Salon owner) will be working Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while JD (Jean Driscoll, Second Stylist), will work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Meals and More – Until further notice:

  • Jim will not be handing your bags directly to you. He will knock and put the bags at your door.
  • Jim will not be entering your home. He will make sure you answer the door to ensure the safety of your meals.

Napul’e’ Food and Wine – Napul’e’ will close for a break during the month of June. The restaurant will reopen July 1.

Painted Pony – Open for dine in or take out.  Lunch 12-2 pm Dinner 4 – close.  939-7779.

Patterson’s Family Restaurant – OPEN for DINE IN or Take OUT Weds-Fri 11 am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday 9am to 7pm.

Pi by CrowTo serve you better they are now offering the Crows Food Box by Pi. This is a weekly preset assortment of meals that changes each week will be posted Sunday evenings. The box will consist of mostly frozen meals that you simply throw in your oven to cook.  There will be 2 person and 4 person options that you can view through their Facebook page @Pibycrow and order through messenger. You then wait for a reply and only pay when you are sent an EMT password. There can be no menu substitutions. Order cut off will be Tuesday noon of each week. Orders will taken on a first come first serve bases. Their store take out window will be open Wednesday, noon – 2pm, Friday noon to 2pm, and Saturday 9am to 3pm for Crows Food Box pickup and single purchases of regular products such as Pizza Dough, teas, honey, salads and breakfast burritos. 

Playwrights’ Atlantic Resource Centre – PARC has temporarily closed its office and script library in the Crabtree Building of Mount Allison University but can still be reached by email at parcoffice@playwrigthsatlantic.ca. The PARC Playwrights’ Retreat is being held remotely this year and began on Sunday May 2nd in the evening. PARC is still offering assistance in the development of scripts through Home Deliveries and remote playwriting workshops.

Post Office – open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 3:30 pm.

Rod Allen Co. Ltd./Thrifty Car Rental – are open but by appointment only. Customers can call 506-536-1555 to book an appointment.

Rose’s Independent Grocery

Just a friendly reminder for the time being their hours will be as follows:

Starting April 3 Independent’s hours will be Monday to Saturday 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm. Their PC Express pick up times remain unchanged: Monday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm. **8:00 am – 9:00 am will remain designated for our seniors and at-risk community*

Also please note they are no longer doing cash-back or cashing any cheques. Lane 1 is their only lane that is accepting cash. They are sorry for the inconvenience.

Royal Bank – is open Monday to Friday 10 am to 3:00 pm

Sackville Auto Clinic – open Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm offering pick up and delivery. Accepting all payments.  24hr Towing Service.

Sackville Bed and Breakfast – while they are unable to serve breakfast, they are open for guests to stay.

Sackville Craft Gallery – The Craft Gallery’s opening date this year is September 1, pending, instead of May 1.  Updates to be given.

Sackville Denture Clinic – The Clinic will be shut down until they hear from their society to let them know that it is okay to go back.

The Sackville Farmers Market –returns to Bill Johnstone Park. Sackville Golf Club – Opens 7:30 am weekdays & weekends

Sackville Harness Shop – Open Tues-Thur. 8:30 – 4:30 pm

Sackville Public Library – Hours are Mon – 10-12 and 2-4, Tue 2-4 and 6-8pm, Wed – Fri 10-12 and 2-4. Closed Sat and Sun.

There is no computer use, no programs, no hanging out in the Library and no public Washrooms.

Soper Physiotherapy –They have been given the clear to get back to work and open up the clinic. Their plan at present is to have a staff meeting Monday morning and ensure that everyone knows exactly what the process and procedures will be. They will start calling each person on Monday and Tuesday to book you an appointment for as soon as they can get you in. They will have to work at a reduced capacity for the first while. So thankful for all the support they have received in kind comments and people wanting/needing to get booked in. They will see you in person soon.

Songs Chopsticks – are still open for take out and delivery. Their hours have changed and are now Monday to Saturday 11:30 am to 8 pm. 536-1450.

Subway – is open now Monday to Sunday 10 am to 9 pm.

Tantramar Gas Bar – Open. They ask customers to follow government protocol such as self-isolation if you have travelled in the last 14 days.  They will post any updates on their Facebook page.

Tantramar Motel – Open.

Tidewater Books & Browsery – Beginning May 19th they will once again be open to the public.  Their hours will be Monday to Saturday from 10am – 5pm.  Please be assured they will do everything to make your experience safe.  They will continue to offer safe curbside pickup, free local delivery and daily shipping.

Tim Hortons – drive-through only open from 5 am to 10 pm.

Uncle Larry’s – is closed until further notice, they will update their Facebook page when they are allowed to open.

Wheaton’s All in One – is open again – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9 am till 4pm. Wednesday, Saturday 9am till 12 noon.

Windsbreath Celebrations and Retreats
-Labyrinth open to the public for walks-no charge. New ribbons and solar lights to mark paths.
-Victoria Day tea will go ahead with two sittings and reservation only to allow for physical distancing.
-B&B open May 29 for one group at a time.
