Environment Canada has issued a tropical storm watch and rainfall warning for parts of Atlantic Canada, including Southeast New Brunswick. Hurricane Fiona is expected to bring high winds and significant rain Friday night through Saturday.
We are continuing to monitor this system and will keep you updated if conditions change. You can monitor storm alerts through Environment Canada or the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization.
As a reminder, the Town of Sackville has an emergency alert system in place, Voyent Alert, to quickly share information about town emergencies. You can register for Voyent Alert here.
Residents are also encouraged to prepare for strong winds and heavy rain. Secure loose objects on your property, clean downspouts, etc., and have a 72-hour emergency preparedness kit on hand. You can find more information on a 72-hour emergency kit here.
Emergency services personnel and our Engineering and Public Works Department are in a state of readiness for the storm. Please check Sackville.com and our social media sites for any further updates.
