Lorne Street Storm Water Mitigation Project Phase III Update July 27

Lorne Street Storm Water Mitigation Project Phase III

Making progress!

Beale & Inch has completed the road work on Crescent Street and moved on to Sloan Drive. Crescent Street is re-open to traffic and Sloan Drive is expected to be closed for 4-6 weeks while underground infrastructure is installed. Beale & Inch is also working on the ditching between Sloan and Crescent. Paving is expected to be completed later this summer once Sloan Drive work has wrapped up.

An invasive species survey was completed at the Retention Pond #2 site, which identified species and their location. These will be removed by Beale & Inch in the fall and disposed of in compliance with provincial and federal guidelines.

There was a temporary water-shut off on July 20 which impacted 7 properties on Sloan Drive. A boil water advisory was in place for impacted properties until July 24 while testing was completed. The boil water advisory has now been lifted.
