Tantramar Names First Communications Officer
SACKVILLE, NB – Tantramar has hired Jeremy McLaughlin as the Communications Officer for the municipality. McLaughlin will start in the role on July 20, 2023.
McLaughlin, a graduate of St Thomas University with a double major in Psychology and Communications and NBCC Saint John with a specialization in Business Administration – Marketing, brings a unique blend of skills, expertise, and innovative strategies to this important role.
As Communications Officer for Tantramar, McLaughlin will be leveraging his skills in marketing strategy development, social media management, content creation, stakeholder engagement, and public speaking. His mandate will include crafting effective communications strategies, leading public relations initiatives, and ensuring that the municipality communicates consistently and transparently with its residents.
“We are really excited to fill this position.” says Tantramar CAO Jennifer Borne. “Jeremy’s hiring as communications officer will enhance our communications capacity, deepen our engagement with the community, and further our commitment to serving the residents of Tantramar with integrity, transparency, and excellence.”
The Communications Officer role is a new position that was identified in the organizational chart for Tantramar. It is a management position and falls within the Community & Corporate Services department.
When asked what he’s most looking forward to about his new role, McLaughlin responded “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to engage with the people of Tantramar and work together to create a thriving, engaging and inclusive environment for everyone. I’m a strong believer in the power of community involvement, and residents can expect a public servant who is committed to their well-being and who will work tirelessly to create energetic and positive change.” McLaughlin and his partner currently live in Dieppe with their three dogs Charlie, Noli, and Anubis.
