Boil Water Advisory Notice – December 20th, 2023

WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION BOIL WATER ADVISORY

TOWN OF SACKVILLE

Date December 20, 2023

Due to a watermain break on West Avenue, Civic #1-#40 West Avenue, all residents on Pickard Place and Civic #2 Sawdon Street are on a Boil Water Advisory, effective from December 20, 2023, until you are notified.  Once all the testing is completed and we have determined that the water is safe to drink, we will hand deliver notices to your door and post on social media, stating that the boil order has been lifted.

This advisory is in effect until further notice

During a boil water order, it is important that all water destined for drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, making ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking, brushing teeth and dental hygiene is held at a rolling boil for 1 minute.

Adults, adolescents and older children may shower, bathe or wash using tap water but should avoid swallowing the water.  Toddlers and infants should be sponged bathed, and caregivers need to ensure no water is swallowed.  Dishes and laundry may be washed in tap water, either by hand or by machine.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  If you have any questions concerning this subject, please call the Tantramar Public Works Department, at 364-4960, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00pm.
