It’s time for spring cleaning! Mark your calendars for this year’s spring bulk garbage collection dates:
Sackville & Dorchester
- Dates: April 29 – May 3, 2024

Former Local Service District Areas
- Date: June 7, 2024
- Provider: Fero Waste
Miller Waste Guidelines (Sackville & Dorchester):
Accepted:
- Bagged leaves, furniture, appliances.
- Tree limbs up to 4 feet, tied in bundles.
- Construction debris up to 50 kg, in a separate pile.
Not Accepted:
- Cars and car parts.
- Trees, brush, hazardous household waste.
- Items from apartments with more than 4 units (currently not receiving municipal pickup).
Fero Waste Guidelines (Former LSD Areas):
Includes Aboujagane, Anderson Settlement, Centre Village, Cherry Burton, Cookville, Dorchester Cape, Fairfield (Westmorland County), Frosty Hollow, Johnson’s Mills, Memramcook East (route 933 from civic # 2203 to # 2620), Middleton, Midgic, Rockport, Sackville Road, Taylor Village, Upper Dorchester, Upper Rockport, Upper Sackville, Westcock and Wood Point.
Accepted:
- Max of 3 large items (e.g., appliances, furniture).
- Tied branches and bundles up to 4 feet.
- 4 tires without rims.
Not Accepted:
- Construction, renovation, or demolition waste.
- Ashes, rocks, sand, gravel; manure.
- Motorized vehicles and parts.
- Biomedical, chemical, radioactive, petroleum waste.
- Explosives, ammunition, herbicides, pesticides.
- Paints, solvents, oil tanks, used oil filters.
- Fish waste, meat products, animal carcasses.
Preparation Tips:
- Place your items curbside the Sunday before your scheduled collection week.
- Note: Collection may occur on a different day than your regular garbage pick-up.
Important Notes:
- Ensure items are properly tied or packaged.
- Black garbage bags will not be accepted.
- Follow all local guidelines to ensure a smooth collection process.
