Council Discussions and Directions
- Rezoning Proposal for 40 King Street
A proposal was discussed to rezone 40 King Street from R2 to R3, allowing for a 5-unit townhouse development. - Text Amendment on Dwelling Size
Council reviewed a text amendment to modify the minimum size requirement for dwellings, allowing more flexibility in housing design to support affordability and diversity. - Surplus Equipment – 1992 GMC Top Kick
Discussion included designating a 1992 GMC Top Kick vehicle from Public Works as surplus, along with options for its disposal. - Disposal of Surplus Fire Equipment
Council discussed surplus equipment from Sackville Fire & Rescue, with plans to donate select items to the NBCC Fire School for training purposes. This donation will aid in training future firefighters, allowing the equipment to continue helping emergency services. We’re proud to support firefighter education and skills development across the province. - Tantramar Fire Services Enhancements
Council discussed further enhancements Tantramar Fire Services, including the purchase of thermal imaging equipment for Sackville Fire & Rescue to improve emergency response. Additionally, new dress uniforms are being considered for both Point de Bute and Sackville Fire Departments. - New Side-by-Side and Trailer for Fire Services
Council discussed the purchase of a side-by-side vehicle and enclosed trailer, ensuring year-round all-terrain access for Sackville Fire & Rescue. - Agreement Renewal with Robert Lyon Graphics

Council discussed participation in the upcoming Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Sustainable Communities Conference. Should Council determine value in attending this conference, staff recommended that Council approve the Mayor and two (2) Councillors be registered. - 2013 Case Loader Engine Repair
A review of necessary repairs for the 2013 Case Loader engine was presented, focusing on maintaining critical Public Works equipment.

- Winterfest 2025 Planning
Council reviewed initial plans for Winterfest, including a request for a street closure to accommodate the annual fireworks display, scheduled for early February.
