Province Announces Major Healthcare Expansion for Tantramar Residents
TANTRAMAR, NB – The Municipality of Tantramar welcomes the Province of New Brunswick’s announcement today regarding new funding that will expand access to primary care services at Tantramar Collaborative Care Clinic.
Premier Susan Holt shared the news during an event held at the hospital this morning, confirming that the funding will allow 1,000 additional patients to be connected with primary care services by the end of 2025. The Province has set a goal to ensure all residents currently on a waitlist in the Tantramar region are matched with a primary care provider by April 2026.
This investment is a major step forward in improving healthcare access across rural New Brunswick and demonstrates a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the Tantramar region.
Mayor Andrew Black expressed the Municipality’s appreciation, stating:
“This is a significant step forward for our region. Access to primary care is essential, and I thank Premier Holt and the Province for their commitment to improving healthcare for residents of Tantramar.”
The Municipality of Tantramar continues to advocate for strengthened local health services and remains a proud partner in the efforts to protect and enhance the role of Sackville Memorial Hospital within the community.
