Artists Painting Workshop with Wayne Boucher

October 15, 2016

On Saturday, Oct 15, Nova Scotia painter, Wayne Boucher will conduct a one day painting workshop in Sackville, NB for artists of all competency levels.  Wayne Boucher is an elected member of the Royal Canadian Academy for the Arts (RCA) and the 2006 recipient of the Portia White Award for Artistic excellence and innovation.

The purpose of the workshop is to have the artists express an idea through a painting medium. The workshop involves approaches to painting and presentation, use of materials, tools, critical thinking, editing and processes of application in formulating meaning through paint. During this intensive and vigorous workshop, Boucher will work one-on-one with the participants, and in a group critique to provide a forum for constructive evaluation and progress.

It will focus on painting mediums such as acrylics, oils, watercolours, in particular the use of oil sticks, and use of painting tools. Participants are encouraged to use their normal painting mediums but oil sticks will be available for use and purchase.

Artists are requested to bring:
  • 4 – 5 canvases (already gessoed or primed) approximately 11” X 14” to 16” X 20” (square or rectangle)
  • Brushes, paints, mediums
  • Notebooks, and drawing papers.
