Camp Cyanotype – free family activityAugust 14, 2016
Sunday August 14th and Sunday August 21st from 2-5 pm Sackville Waterfowl Park Artist-in-Residence Rachel Thornton will offer a free activity in the Sackville Waterfowl Park.
Rachel will be offering the chance for people of all ages to make their own cyanotype images at “Camp Cyanotype”. An immediate, accessible and a little bit magical way of making images, Camp Cyanotype brings community members together to learn, experiment and create as a group. The cyanotype process is one of the oldest forms of photography, dating back to 1842, yet in Rachel’s view it is still a relevant technology with limitless possibilities. People will be able to make beautiful cyanotypes to take home using natural objects found in the park.
Anyone who would like to make their own cyanotype can find Rachel and her tent in the Park, near the Doncaster covered bridge, at the designated times. No appointment is required. For more information, contact email@example.com or the Sackville Visitor Information Centre at 364-4967.
