How Can I Help? The Basic Goodness of Relationship and Society

October 2, 2017

The Sackville Shambhala Meditation Group is pleased to offer the six-week course “How Can I Help? The Basic Goodness of Relationship and Society” which explores our relationships with others and society, and our aspiration to help our world. We will explore the Shambhala understanding of society and enlightened society in particular. Are relationships ultimately confused or is there goodness in human society? How can our engagement in society be based more fully on interconnection and kindness? We will explore these questions in four areas of our lives: family and household, work, arts and entertainment, and economy. The contemplative practices of Shambhala Meditation, tonglen (“sending and taking” in the Mahayana Buddhist tradition) and true listening will be introduced.
Dates: Sept. 25 – Oct. 30, 2017, Mondays at 7:00 pm

Location: Sackville United Church, 110 Main St, 2nd fl.

Tuition fee: $150 – Early Bird $135 (register before Sept. 11)

This course is open to the public. No previous meditation experience is required.
