Chignecto Naturalists’ Club – iNaturalist and eBird Beginner’s FREE WorkshopJanuary 19
iNaturalist and eBird are two easy-to-use citizen science platforms. The Chignecto Naturalists’ Club is offering a FREE half-day workshop on these two platforms.
iNaturalist allows you to take a photo of a bird, plant, insect, etc. with your phone, upload it in real time, and have experts from around the world identify it for you. If you’ve taken the photo with your camera, you can upload it from your computer for identification.
eBird is a way for anyone around the world to store and share their birding observations, their photos, and their sound recordings, and make them available to educators, scientists, and birders. It also allows you to maintain your personal list.
Any Android (e.g. Google, Samsung, LG, etc.) or iPhone works for downloading the mobile app.
If you don’t have a smartphone, then bring your camera and Adam will teach how to upload observations via your computer at home.
This is a workshop at the beginner’s level.
After the presentation, Adam will lead us outside to practice.
