Chignecto Naturalists’ Club Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting of the club will be held on Monday evening, May 16th at 7:30 pm.

The guest speaker will be John Klymko, Zoologist with the Atlantic Canada Conservation Data Centre which is based in Sackville. He will give a talk on the “Maritimes Butterfly Atlas”, a citizen science project that is documenting the current distribution of butterfly species in the Maritimes provinces. The data collection component of this project ran from 2010 to 2016. John Klymko, the atlas director, will be discussing the project’s results. He’ll provide an overview of some major highlights, discuss the impact of the atlas on the understanding of butterfly distribution in the Maritimes, and touch on the next steps for the project.

The meeting takes place in the basement of the Sackville Public Library. All are welcome to attend!
Chignecto Naturalists’ Club meets the 3rd Monday of each month from September through June, with monthly speakers as well as, planned field trips throughout the year. New members are always welcome! Contact club President, Pam Novak for more information. (506) 364-1902.
