Chignecto Naturalists’ Club – Snowshoe Trek and animal tracking in JolicureFebruary 15, 2020
WHAT: A snowshoe and animal tracks in the snow trip this weekend led by retired wildlife biologist Richard Elliot.
WHEN & WHERE: Meet behind the Sackville Post Office at 1:00 PM Saturday, 15 February for car pooling and a 1:10 PM (sharp) departure for the home of Andrew MacFarlane at 19 Jolicure Road. (Yellow house near the east end of the Jolicure Road). Alternately, meet at 19 Jolicure Road at 1:30 PM. In case of bad weather the trip may be postponed until Sunday, 16 Feb at the same time.
BRING: Snowshoes, (a few extra snowshoes will be available if you don’t have any). Warm layers of clothes, (the walk from the house to the woods is open field and may be chilly). Binoculars (we may see birds or other wildlife). Strong foot gear suitable for snowshoes, the usual field guides and note paper as desired.
DIFFICULTY: There will be several hundred meters of open field walking on a slight hill then fairly flat ground in the woods for 1 to 2 hours.
REFRESHMENTS: Andrew has invited us to his house on completion for warm drinks.
