Chignecto Naturalists’ Field Trip “Exploring the Night Sky!”January 24
Chignecto Naturalists’ Club’s first field trip for 2018 has been arranged to visit the Mount Allison University Observatory at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, 24 January. Dr. Robert Sorba will deliver a talk about extra-solar planets and the search for extra-terrestrial life followed by a tour of the observatory. Weather permitting, there will be viewing of the night sky through the observatory telescopes. Dr. Sorba predicts that there will be many things of interest to view in the night sky. Details below:
WHAT: Chignecto Naturalists’ Club field trip to the Mount Allison University Observatory. This trip will include a talk about extra-solar planets and extra-terrestrial life followed by a tour of the observatory and viewing of the night sky.
WHERE: Meet inside the York Street entrance to the Mt A Dunn building (Corner York & Salem Streets, Sackville).
WHEN: Meet at 6:50 PM, Wednesday, January 24 for a 7:00 PM start.
WHO: Everyone is welcome, member of the Chignecto Naturalists’ Club or not.
BRING: Layered warm clothing. The classroom presentation will be warm but the Observatory is outside and unheated.
