How do we listen?: An interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration

7:00 pm – Pre-Concert Talk with Dorene Bernard, Mi’kmaq elder and survivor of the Shubenacadie Indian Residential School

7:30 pm – Faculty and Guest Recital

Honouring the Acquin family’s inter-generational experience of the Indian Residential School in Schubenacadie, Nova Scotia, through music, sound, and text, this performance includes Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik music, 16th- and 17th-century Catholic music, and soundscapes and script produced by an intercultural community of artists and scholars.

With Angela Acquin, Jade Polches, Hubert Francis, Brian Francis, Linda Pearse, Ann Waltner, John Watkins, Vicki St. Pierre, Karin Cuellar Rendon, Kirsty Money, Maximilien Brisson, Dominique Lortie, Michel Angers, and Marie Bouchard.

Single tickets can be purchased at the door: $15 adults; $10 seniors and students. Series subscriptions are also available. Free for current Mount Allison students with a valid ID card. For more information call 364-2374 or e-mail music@mta.ca.
