Mark Clintberg: Visiting Artist TalkMarch 29
Artist, critic, art historian and curator, Mark Clintberg will give a talk on his work at the Owens Art Gallery on Wednesday 29 March at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.
Mark Clintberg is an artist who works in the field of art history. He holds a BFA from the Alberta College of Art + Design and both an MA and a Ph.D. in Art History from Concordia University. His dissertation, The Artist’s Restaurant: Taste and the Performative Still Life was nominated for a Governor-General’s Gold Medal Award.
Mark Clintberg was shortlisted for the Sobey Art Award in 2013 and longlisted in 2016. His work has recently been shown at The Rooms, Doris McCarthy Gallery, Artspace, and the Western Front. It is housed in numerous public and private art collections in Canada and the United States, including the National Gallery of Canada. He is represented by Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain.
Mark Clintberg’s talk is part of the Visiting Artist Program, a series co-sponsored by Mount Allison’s Department of Fine Arts, The Owens Art Gallery and Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre. The Visiting Artist Program is funded by a grant form the Canada Council for the Arts to the Department of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University.
