Mount A Breakfast Chat: Living with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FASD)March 16
FRENCH TITLE: “Le petit-déjeuner/débat de Mount A: Vivre avec le trouble du spectre de l’alcoolisation fœtale”.
Mount A Breakfast Chat is a public/free event where you can discuss issues in science and health in an informal setting.
In Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), alcohol exposure in the womb is a leading contributor to complex physical and neurobehavioural problems in children, youth, and adults. An early diagnosis of FASD is critical to improve the quality of personal and family life. If you are interested in learning more about FASD because you care for or interact with a child/youth or adult with FASD, this Mount A Breakfast Chat is for you. In this free and public event, we will chat about the following: the basics of FASD, the diagnostic journey across the lifespan, learning challenges, sociolegal effects, support systems, and tips for resilience. You may share ideas or ask any question you wish to a multidisciplinary panel of experts (Ms. Annette Cormier, BSN; Dr. Nicole Leblanc, MD, F.R.C.P.(c); Dr. Erin Atkinson; Dr. Lori Vitale Cox; Ms. Françoise Corbin-Boucher).
Discussion will be in English and French (with translation).
Everyone welcome. Reservations preferred by Thursday, March 14 at 5 p.m. For more information and to RSVP, e-mail: MountABreakfastChat@gmail.com.
