PARC’S ANNUAL PLAYWRIGHTS’ COLONY HOSTS FIRST PUBLIC READING

Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC) is hosting its annual Playwrights Colony in Sackville NB from May 8 – 21.
The first public reading of excerpts from works in progress is set for May 11 th at 7:30 pm. PARC will present an Evening of Readings at The Empress Theatre in The Capital Theatre Building, 811 Main St. Moncton, NB. The playwrights whose work will be featured this evening are: David S. Craig, Colleen Murphy, Don Hannah, Ellen Peterson, Scott Sharplin, Ryan Griffith, and Jenny Munday. The evening will be hosted by Marshall Button and Marcel Romain-Theriault.

A second evening of readings is planned for May 18 in Sackville, NB.

Public Readings of excerpts of works in progress are sponsored by the Playwrights Guild of Canada, The Canada Council for the Arts, the NB Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, The Town of Sackville, The JEA Crake Foundation, The Access Copyright Foundation, Mount Allison University and through a Community Volunteer Grant Award on behalf of Great-West Life, London Life, and Canada Life. Funding for travel and professional development was received from the Winnipeg Arts Council and the Manitoba Arts Council.
