The inaugural performance of the Sackville Waterfowl Park Performing Artist-in-Residence will take place on Friday August 2nd, 2019 at 6pm, at the covered bridge in the Waterfowl Park. This free contemporary dance event is open to all. The show, entitled “Heart of Home”, was choreographed by the resident artist, Leah Wilton, who will be performing along with two local young dancers, Delaney Tree and Norah Wilson. Wilton is a contemporary dance student at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, who is excited to bring her artistry back to her hometown.
“Heart of Home” is a site-specific work that centers around the idea of developing authentic relationships with oneself, and others. The work explores how mindfulness and our environment influences our choices, and allow us to chose to be content simply being yourselves. You can find these artists hard a work in the Waterfowl Park, weekday mornings. Wilton invites you to stop by, watch, and ask questions at any time.
