17th Annual Winterfest 2024

The municipality will come to life during four fun filled days that will get you outside to enjoy everything winter in Tantramar has to offer!

 

February 8- 11, 2024 will mark the 17th Annual Winterfest here in Tantramar!

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ADULT DISCO SKATE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 15, 2024 FROM 9:30-11:30 PM.

Join us for a spectacular Winterfest filled with fun, creativity, and community spirit! Here is a sample of some of the can’t-miss events:

Warm-up to Winterfest: Women’s Dessert Night (Saturday, February 3)

  • Time: 7:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Location: Church by the Lake, 14 Church St.
  • Enjoy a tropical-themed dessert night with live local entertainment, delicious cheesecakes, and a chance to win a grand prize $500 VISA gift card! RSVP required.

‘Let It Be Love’ – A New Stage Play (Thursday, February 8)

  • Time: 7:30 PM
  • Venue: Live Bait Theatre, 3 Fairfield Rd.
  • Immerse yourself in the world of theatre with this Valentine’s season special, featuring original love stories.

Frosty Outdoor Party, BBQ and Fireworks (Friday, February 9)

  • Time: 7:00-8:00 PM
  • Venue: Bill Johnstone Memorial Park
  • Dance to the music, participate in some friendly competition while supporting local organizations with a hot chocolate or some BBQ.  Finish the night with a fireworks show at 8:00 PM.

Legion Luncheon
(Friday, February 9)

  • Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Venue: Royal Canadian Legion Sackville Branch, 15 Lorne St.
  • Savor homemade beef stew and meet the Crown of Winterfest.

Family Day at Beech Hill Park (Saturday, February 10)

  • Time: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
  • Join us for an exciting afternoon of winter activities including wagon rides, sledding, snowshoeing, snow sculpture building, a free BBQ, and Maple Candy on the Snow.  Buy a Hot Chocolate and support the Grade 8 Quebec Trip. BRING YOUR OWN MUG!

Evening Snowshoe (Saturday, February 10)

  • Time: 5:00-7:00 PM
  • Venue: Walker Road Trails
  • A guided evening snowshoe outing hosted by the Tantramar Outdoor Club.  Snowshoes available for those who need them.
  • Register here before February 8th.

Town vs Gown Charity Hockey Game (Sunday, February 11)

  • Time: 4:45 PM
  • Venue: Tantramar Veteran’s Memorial Civic Centre
  • Take in the fast-paced action while the best hockey players Sackville and Mount Allison have for offer faceoff in support of the Sackville Food Bank. Bring a food item with you and some cash to support Sackville Minor Hockey.  Plenty of prizes and activities!

The Sweetest Little Thing Art Auction

The Sweetest Little Thing is the most important annual fundraising event for the Owens Art Gallery and Struts Gallery in Sackville, NB. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting programming at both galleries.
